A care home is disappointed that four newly planted trees outside of it have been stolen.
Staff and residents at Lavender Fields Care Home in Seal, Sevenoaks were shocked to discover that thieves had struck overnight.
The conifer trees that mysteriously disappeared had been planted were part of a larger landscaping area to brighten up the day of residents at the home.
Alex Lidsay of Evergreen Landscaping, who planted the trees said: “I cannot believe that people would steal from a charity that provides care to older people, it is pretty disappointing that anyone would do this”.
The care home supports older people who need care and support to remain independent and to people living with dementia in separate and self-sufficient areas as well as safe and positive outdoor space.
Karen Cooper, Home Manager at Lavender Fields, said: “We look after lots of lovely older people and the outdoor space is really important to them. We hope that whoever has taken the trees realises that the care home and its surroundings are designed to bring joy to older people who live at Lavender Fields.”
