Edenbridge: Man charged with spitting in police officer's face

A man reported to have spat in a police officer’s face has been arrested and charged.

Police were called to a disturbance in Chequers Hill, Bough Beech, near Edenbridge, during the early hours of Friday.

After getting into the property at 3.40am they tried to arrest a man.

He is said to have tried to resist arrest and pushed over an officer, who banged her head on a table as she fell. The man is then said to have spat in the faces and on the arms of other officers.

Warren Field, aged 27 and of Chequers Hill, Bough Beech was taken into custody and later charged with the following offences: two charges of assaulting a police officer in the execution of their duty, obstructing or resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty, common assault and a charge of exposure.

He has been bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on January 23, 2018.
