A driver was arrested after fleeing police and crashing a stolen car near Sevenoaks.

Sevenoaks police team tweeted last night to show the aftermath of the accident involving an Abarth which had failed to stop "on the Met border".

They added: "Driver thought he was the next Lewis Hamilton but crashed, driver then jumped out the car and made off, he was swiftly detained, checks show that the car was stolen, driver had no licence or insurance so was arrested."

Police have been approached for further details.
