Police stopped a vehicle travelling at a staggering 160mph on one of the county’s motorways in the early hours of this morning.

The BMW passed an unmarked police car while exceeding the speed limit on the M20 at Wrotham at around 1.20am.

Police gave chase and clocked the car hitting 160mph – more than twice the speed limit.

In a tweet – which included a picture of the speeds being hit on the stretch of road – the police roads unit said: “The vehicle was stopped, the driver dealt with and will await a court date.”
