Driver 'lucky' to walk away after car crash on A21 in Sevenoaks near M25

A driver was "lucky" to walk away after his car careered off the road this afternoon.

The mangled wreckage was pictured on Sevenoaks officers' Twitter feed and the team who attended revealed he was the only person involved but failed to provide a breath sample at the road side.

The force posted: "#Team1 Busy shift so far, below driver was lucky, only him involved, thanks to #SECAS & #KFRS, however failed to provide a breath sample #roomforone #fatal5- MLS"

The fire brigade and paramedics also attended the scene.

The crash happened on the northbound section of the A21 Sevenoaks bypass between the A225 Hildenborough turn off and the M25 Chipstead junction.

The road remains closed.
