Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in their lounge.

Fire crews were called to Fen Meadow in Ightham, near Sevenoaks, just before 6.30pm today.

On arrival they found two elderly casualties suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation following a fire in the lounge.

The fire was extinguished when crews arrived but the property was heavily smoke-logged.
