Firefighters have left the scene of a large haystack blaze after more than 24 hours.
Crews have now fully extinguished around 200 hay bales which were alight in Crowhurst Lane, Ash, after being called at 7pm on Monday (September 30).
At its peak, six fire engines and a bulk water carrier were in attendance.
As of 10am yesterday (October 1), only one fire engine remained and crews were using main jets to extinguish the flames.
Videos from the scene, taken on Monday night, showed a large mound of hay on fire with thick plumes of black smoke.
People living and working in the area were being urged to keep their windows and doors closed due to the large amounts of smoke from the haystack.
However, as of 10.30pm yesterday that advice had been lifted as crews left the scene.
A spokesperson for the Kent Fire and Rescue Service added: “Please share this information with any loved ones in the area who may not have access to the internet.”
