Primary school children who are starting to learn orchestral instruments can now enjoy playing with others for the first time at a free project in Kent.
The free sessions organised by the Orchestra Explorers project are aimed at eight to 11-year-olds in the Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone and Sevenoaks areas.
They will give children the experience of learning and practicing music with other beginners and on the last day the group will perform a concert for family and friends.
The workshops, all held at Mascalls School in Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood will run from 10am to 12.30pm on Wednesday July 30, Thursday July 31, Friday August 1 and Sunday August 3.
Kent Music chief executive Peter Bolton said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for primary school children starting out on an orchestral instrument to find out what it’s like to play as part of an ensemble.
"In association with Soundhub, Kent Music is committed to giving children across the county opportunities to sing and play music spanning a wide range of styles, in a host of choirs and ensembles.”
Places on the project must be reserved in advance as numbers are limited.
Parents can book places online by visiting www.kent-music.com, by email at orchestraexplorers@kent-music.com or by calling Penny on 01622 691212.
