Heavy rain causes flood risk for River Eden

A flood alert has been issued for part of Kent.

The environment agency has issued the warning for River Eden and Eden Brook because of heavy rainfall expected overnight.

Roads and farmland around Haxted Mill is possible from 6am tomorrow.

Heavy rainfall has sparked the warning (6376532)

The rain is due to start at midnight but ease in the morning.

Heavy showers are expected for the rest of the day.

People are advised to avoid low lying footpaths near local watercourses.

The agency will issue an update in the morning.
