A film featuring a rising star from Edenbridge won an Oscar.
Archie Yates, 11, plays Yorki in Jojo Rabbit, which triumphed in the Best Adapted Screenplay category at last night's ceremony.
The Edenbridge Primary School pupil, who attended the star-studded event, plays the best friend of Johannes 'Jojo Rabbit' Betzler in the film, directed by Taika Waititi.
It was in the running for five other categories, including Best Picture, Film Editing, Production Design, Costume Design and Scarlett Johannson, who plays alongside Archie, was also nominated for Supporting Actress.
Her Marriage Story co-star Laura Dern snapped up the award.
The film lost out to popular releases such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Little Women and Parasite - the first non-English speaking film to win the Best Picture award.
After the event, actor Josh Gad, known for playing Disney Frozen's Olaf and Beauty and the Beast's Gaston, tweeted to tell his followers he wants to play Archie's dad in the future.
Earlier in the week, the film also picked up the same award at the BAFTAs.
