Members of the police are urging the public to help identify a lamb slaughterer that has killed three lambs in the last month.

The “defenceless” animals were killed in three separate incidents, and displayed teeth marks from a dog and visible slashes from a knife.

One lamb was found dead in a Field in Moor Lane, Edenbridge at 11.15am on Wednesday, July 9.

The other two were killed in a field in Lingfield between 3.30pm on Thursday, July 21 and 10am on Friday, August 1 and again between 7pm on Sunday, July 6 and 12.40pm on Monday, July 7.

Investigating officer PC Alice Bennett said: “These appear to have been deliberate attacks which have left defenceless lambs dead and are incredibly upsetting for the farmers who are also left out of pocket.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in these areas to get in touch and to be mindful of anything that you may see in the future.

“Dog owners have a responsibility to keep their dogs under control at all times when walking close to fields with livestock in. To allow your pet to chase livestock is totally unacceptable.”
