A lorry was left buckled after it hit a railway bridge this morning.

The accident happened at about 9.15am in Marlpit Hill, off Main Road in Edenbridge, and left the trailer out of shape.

Kent Police attended at 10.05am and said no one was injured by the accident and no arrests have been made.

Craig Foreman, who works at the nearby Bradford Electrical store, witnessed the accident as he walked to work.

He said: "The lorry hit the bridge and tried to force its way through. It made a loud grinding noise which caused me to look up.

"There was a large bang and it went back two or three feet. It wasn't trapped under the bridge for long. The driver backed it up and parked it in Enterprise Way."

Network Rail said the bridge suffered no damage and the incident caused no disruption to rail services.
