Ninety-year-old Sevenoaks pensioner falls victim to distraction theft

A man has been charged with burglary after he allegedly stole from a 90-year-old woman.

The suspect is said to have knocked on the door of his victim on Sunday at her home close to Tonbridge Road in Sevenoaks.

Treeby will appear before Medway Magistrates Court

He is reported to have engaged her in conversation before entering the property uninvited.

After the suspect left, the victim noticed £30 was missing from her purse.

Ambrose Treeby, 40, of Queen Street, Paddock Wood, was arrested and taken into custody.

He was charged with burglary and remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday).
