Police are investigating after a man’s body was discovered in a lake at a golf club.
Officers were called to London Golf Club at around 2.45pm on Monday, September 4, where a 34-year-old man was found dead.
It’s not known yet when the body went into the water at the 700-acre site in Stansted Road, Ash, near Brands Hatch.
KentOnline understands the man was a Polish national who was attending a wedding, but this has not been confirmed, and he could have been in the water for as long as two months.
A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a report that a body had been seen in water near West Kingsdown.
“Officers and ambulance crews attended the location, which was close to a public footpath and part of land connected to the London Golf Club.
“A 34-year-old man was confirmed deceased at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.
“A post-mortem examination has since taken place and the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
London Golf Club played host to the European Tour back in 2008.
It has been approached for comment.
