A man had to be freed from his van after it overturned on the M25.

The vehicle had rolled into a field between Junction 6 for Godstone and Junction 5 for Sevenoaks and the M26, in the anti-clockwise carriageway at 6.15am.

Two fire engines attended and crews arrived to find an overturned van in a field, with a man thought to be about 40 years old trapped inside.

Ambulance crew was at the scene. Stock picture.

They used a reciprocating saw to remove part of the roof and the side of the van to access the man, and he was removed from the vehicle on a spinal longboard and handed into the care of the ambulance service.
