Young man left with serious facial injuries after catapult gang attack in Edenbridge

A young man was left with serious facial injuries after a being racially abused and attacked with a catapult.

Police are investigating the incident in Springfield Road, Edenbridge, which happened between 9.45pm and 10.15pm on Saturday, December 3.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being pulled from his moped and repeatedly shot in the face with ball bearings by another man.

It's thought the suspect racially abused the victim before trying to steal his phone and wallet.

It comes after reports of a separate incident around the same time involving a group of four men targetting the same victim with catapults.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Chris Welham, said: "This was a very violent assault and we have been completing enquiries to track down and arrest those responsible.

"We are now urging witnesses to either incident to call our appeal line.

"We are also asking residents with private CCTV in the Springfield Road and Skeynes Road areas, and motorists with dashcam to check for footage that may assist the investigation."
