A woman was pushing her child in a pram along Station Road just after 7pm on Wednesday (September 27), when she says a black BMW with yellow headlights stopped next to her.

A female passenger started asking for directions and, at the same time, the man who was driving got out and moved towards the victim.

The woman says she felt threatened and called the police after the man got back into the car and drove off.

Det Sgt David Turner, of the West Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team, said: “We have been investigating this incident and are seeking to identify and speak to the occupants of this BMW.

“The victim felt threatened during the encounter and we are appealing to any witnesses to contact us.

“In particular, we would like to speak to a woman wearing a white top and black cycling shorts, who stopped and asked after the victim’s welfare.”

Motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV are also asked to check for relevant footage.

Anybody with information should call police on 01622 604100, quoting 46/173701/23. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, or by using the online form on their website.
