Kent motorists are facing a nightmare drive home this afternoon following a series of crashes.

The longest delays are on the M25 which has been shut by two separate crashes on its anticlockwise section between junctions 3 and 2 and a third crash between junctions 4 and 5.

Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

One witness said: "It must be a massive accident. I've seen six ambulances, fire and police flying down hard shoulder.

"I've been stuck in traffic now for 15 minutes."

Although one collision has now been cleared drivers can still expect headaches. One of four lanes remains closed between junctions 3 and 4. Highways England predicts delays will continue for at least another hour to 5.45pm.

There are also delays on the M20 London-bound carriageway near Ashford after an earlier accident.
