A family on their way from Romford to Brighton as they were "bored and wanted some fresh air" were stopped by police.
The driver was spotted using a mobile phone on the westbound carriageway of the M25, coming up to the Clacket Lane services, near Sevenoaks, and had two children and a baby in the car - none of whom were wearing a seatbelt.
The man, in his 30s, was part way through a 74-mile trip from Romford to Brighton and was also uninsured and did not have a licence.
The uninsured vehicle was seized and the group made their own arrangements to return home, and the man was reported for using a mobile phone while driving, driving while three child passengers were not wearing seatbelts and driving without insurance.
As the occupants were not from the area they were reminded of their personal responsibilities in relation to the Government’s instructions around essential travel.
Initially highlighted by Kent Police's Road Policing Unit on Twitter, officers said the family were "en route to Brighton for a day out as they were bored of being in and wanted some free air", and branded this as inappropriate.
