Those looking for a good meal can stop their search after Shepherd Neame handed out their annual awards.

The King Henry VIII pub in Edenbridge has been awarded the title of Pub Food of the Year by the Faversham-based brewery.

The Hever Road pub was among 13 of the brewery’s 335 pubs and hotels to receive an award.

Tony Mosedale and David Brant, who have been the licensees of the pub since 2010, were thrilled to win the award.

“It is fantastic to be recognised by the brewery for our efforts with this award and it will really mean a lot to the team,” Mr Mosedale said.

The judges praised the pub for the attractive presentation of the dishes and also the team for their cheerful and helpful service.

The King Henry VIII dates back to 1647 and serves a range of traditional pub classics as well as a selection of specials using seasonal produce.

Shepherd Neame Chief Executive Jonathan Neame said: “We are very proud of our estate of pubs, inns, and hotels.

"These awards are aimed at recognising the hard work, dedication, and creativity of our licensees and staff, and celebrates excellence in our industry.”
