Two people trapped in car after Sevenoaks tree smash

Two people trapped inside a car after it crashed into a tree had to be cut free from the vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Weald, near Sevenoaks, just after 2.30am today.

The car had the left the carriageway along Long Barn Road just before the collision happened.

A fire service spokesman said: "Crews using hydraulic rescue equipment released two people from the vehicle.

"They used stabilisation jacks to provide a safer working environment for paramedics to assess any injuries, before creating space to allow the casualties to be removed to a waiting ambulance."

A police spokesman says the occupants of the car were taken to hospital for treatment, but that their injuries are not believed to be serious.

Fire crews left the scene just before 3.30am.
