A vehicle fire has forced traffic to be held on the M20.

Firefighters are battling the blaze on the motorway near Brands Hatch.

Traffic reports say the incident took place at about 8.40pm and the road has been blocked for almost an hour.

The road is closed between junction 2 for the A20 and Brands Hatch to junction 1 for the M25 at the Swanley Interchange.

Two of three lanes are closed.

Normal traffic conditions are expected between 10pm and 10.15pm, according to National Highways.
