A glamping site aiming for a late-night festival licence has split residents’ opinion over noise in a village.
Little Elses in Sevenoaks Weald is a family-run glamping site off Morleys Road and currently holds small events throughout the year.
Now the owners, Mr Scott and Mrs Laura King, want to expand the business and have applied for a licence to hold events that can continue until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Alcohol would also be available as part of a separate licence.
Plans for a pop-up outdoor cinema, food festivals and wedding receptions will also be considered.
The 10-acre field has already hosted events and festivals and in June is set to hold another family-friendly music festival, Rhythm in Oaks, set to run until 9pm.
However, plans to hold later night events have split the community, with 16 residents filing objections against the application and another 14 sending in letters of support.
Sevenoaks Weald has a population of about 1,500 people and some objections have said the application shows a “total lack of any regard to their neighbours' peace”.
Those in support claim the family-friendly site is safe to be holding events while opponents say the events could attract anti-social behaviour and disorder.
As well as festivals and glamping, Little Elses offers dog walking in its nearby woodland at £15 per hour.
Sevenoaks council will decide the fate of the glamping site’s licence application today.
