Ann Summers founder Jacqueline Gold dies at 62 after breast cancer treatment

Ann Summers founder Jacqueline Gold has died at the age of 62.

The businesswoman, who was from Biggin Hill in Westerham, Sevenoaks, died on Thursday evening after seven years of treatment for breast cancer, her family confirmed.

A statement from loved ones said: “It is with unspeakable sadness that Ann Summers confirms our amazing executive chair Jacqueline Gold CBE passed away yesterday evening with her husband Dan, daughter Scarlett, sister Vanessa, and brother-in-law Nick, by her side.”

Her sister Vanessa added: “Jacqueline courageously battled stage four breast cancer for seven years and was an absolute warrior throughout her cancer journey.”

Ms Gold used to write a column for the KM Group more than a decade ago.

She was made a CBE in the 2016 New Year Honours for services to entrepreneurship, women in business and social enterprise.

Ms Gold's father, West Ham joint-chairman David Gold, died at the age of 86 in January.

He had been fighting a short illness and died with Jaqueline, Vanessa and his fiancée Leslie by his side.
