A Dunton Green church could be demolished to make way for new homes.
Plans to construct six, three-storey properties on the Station Road site have been submitted to Sevenoaks District Council for consideration.
Six cycle stores, six refuse storage areas and six car parking bays with electric charging points would also be built.
The church was built in 1937 and was linked to Sevenoaks Congregational Church until the 1960s.
The building, which is in need of major renovation, was closed in 2012 due to dwindling congregations.
The decision was made by the free church council that the property was no longer viable and surplus to their needs and was offered for sale on the open market.
The nearest congregational church is currently seven miles away in Westerham.
Developer, Ian Howell, said the construction of the homes would not provide a loss of services and facilities to the area as the church has been closed for several years.
The homes, which would all be three bedroom, would sit away from the road to provide a "soft edge".
The planning application says materials will be used to allow the new buildings to sit comfortably alongside others in the area.
