A man has been charged following a violent armed burglary at a home where a resident was injured.
Police are investigating an alleged incident when a group of thieves armed with knives forced their way into a property in St James’s Road, Sevenoaks.
They are reported to have stolen items including money and several mobile phones during the break-in on Sunday, August 28.
One of the people at the home was assaulted, suffering cuts to his hands and face.
Kailum Dennis was arrested as part of an investigation by the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad last week.
The 24-year-old of Lyham Road, Brixton was later charged with aggravated burglary, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause unlawful violence and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a machete.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court last Friday and was remanded in custody.
His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
