The Post Office is proposing to relocated the Borough Green branch to a new location where it will open as a new open-plan office with longer opening hours.
There are proposals to move it to 50-54 High Street, Borough Green which is 350 metres from its current site in Western Road.
Post Office local is a new concept for delivering services and the new branch would offer Post Office products and services from a till at the shop counter during opening hours instead of from a separate counter.
If the move goes ahead, the branch would open from 8am - 9pm Monday to Sunday, which offers customers an extra 45 hours of services every week including all day Sunday and Saturday afternoon.
The move is part of a major modernisation programme across the network designed to make it easier for customers to do business through longer opening hours.
Will Russell, regional manager said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Borough Green and we are confident that this new modern branch will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
The modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Customers and interested parties are now invited to give their comments on the move in a six week public consultation that closes on Friday, October 31.
