A serial burglar was tracked down by investigators after his blood was found at the scene of the crime.

Police tracked down a suspect while investigating calls that a house in the Seal area of Sevenoaks had been targeted while its owners were away.

A selection of jewellery and credit cards had been stolen from the address on March 24.

Blood was recovered from the scene and on Thursday (May 18) police arrested a man locating him at a London address.

Marielo Cara, of Richens Close, Hounslow, Greater London was later charged with burglary.

The 24-year-old was also charged with three counts of burglary in London and two in Hertfordshire.

He pleaded guilty at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday (May 19) and has been remanded to be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court at a later date.
