A driver was lucky to escape injury after a caravan being towed came loose and smashed into their car.

The person was in a Fiesta on the A225 near Sevenoaks when the freak accident happened at around 3.30pm.

It initially blocked the road in both directions.

Police tweeted the caravan had "bounced off" the towing vehicle after going over some potholes and hit the Fiesta head-on.

They said the matter had been referred to Kent Highways.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported."
