Sevenoaks council is due to appear in court after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a road sweeper on the A20 in Swanley.

Derek McCulloch, from Swanley, died after his Yamaha motorcycle collided with the street cleaner in Maidstone Road on September 13, 2010. He was 58.

The Health and Safety Executive has charged the council for failing to ensure the safety of a person other than an employee.

The authority is due to answer the charges at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
