A woman has been hit by a car that crashed into a brick wall in Riverhead.

Emergency services were called to Amherst Hill just after 4.30pm, which was closed at the junction with The Square.

The woman is thought to have suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The road remains closed following a diesel spill from the wrecked car.

A clear-up operation is underway.
