Firefighters tackled a blaze in a loft at a Sevenoaks property today.

Kent Fire and Rescue Services was alerted to the incident, at The Rise, after an alarm system sounded.

Three fire engines were sent to the three-storey house shortly before 3pm.

The first engine arrived within five minutes of receiving the 999 call.

The occupiers were out of the property at the time of the fire, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault in the loft.

Crews spent around 45 minutes cutting away and damping down and left the scene at 4.15pm.

The fire caused structural damage to the loft area.
