A man who allegedly crashed his car into a pond has been charged with drink-driving.

Residents woke to find a Nissan Micra abandoned in Otford Pond just before 3am yesterday.

Police were called to the scene, in the High Street, to find the silver vehicle balancing on the water's edge.

Daniel Sullivan was arrested and charged with drink-driving shortly after.

The 31-year-old has been bailed by police and is due to appear at court on Monday, October 19.

No-one was injured in the crash.
