Firefighters came to the aid of a pony which had become stuck in mud in Sevenoaks.

Three crews from the animal rescue unit were sent to Wickhurst Road at 9.40am to help the small horse, which could not get out of a ditch.

After getting the pony, which was 10 hands high, to safety they stayed to warm up the animal after its ordeal.

They then left it in the care of its owner.
