Festive shoppers can make the most of shops and eateries across Sevenoaks and Westerham with free weekend parking in the run up to Christmas.

Sevenoaks District Council is waiving all charges in its car parks and for on-street parking to make it easier for shoppers to visit both areas on Saturday, December 6 and Saturday, December 13.

The free parking also coincides with "Small Business Saturday", which is taking place on December 5 and exists to help support, inspire and promote small businesses.

Cllr Roddy Hogarth, the council’s cabinet member for parking said: “We’ve introduced the free parking for these two Saturdays to help shoppers at this expensive time of year, allowing them to spend more time relaxing and shopping in the District without the worry that their parking ticket is going to run out!”

Car parks and on-street ticket machines will be closed off and shoppers will not need a ticket, however, all other parking conditions will still apply, including the maximum stay allowed.
