Fuel tanker in pile-up on M25

A STRETCH of motorway was closed off this morning after a fuel tanker was involved in a collision with a lorry and a car.

The anti-clockwise stretch of the M25 between Sevenoaks and Orpington was closed from about 3.45am until around 8am, with traffic diverted along the M26 and M20 towards Swanley. Emergency services were called to the crash at 2.55am.

The tanker was empty at the time of the collision. One man was slightly injured.

The accident was spread over 400 metres and debris was strewn over a further 200 metres.

The cause of the collision is not yet known and is being investigated.
