There are five candidates standing in the general election for the Sevenoaks constituency.
Amelie Boleyn (Green)
A graduate in international relations and French, Miss Boleyn, 35, previously lived in Aix en Provence. She works in asset management in the City. She lives in Crockham Hill and has a son Ben.
Key policies: Ending fracking. Ensuring every job pays a living wage. Investing in renewable energy. Building more social rented homes and bringing abandoned buildings back into use.
In her words: “I want to achieve a fairer, more equitable society."
Alan Bullion (Lib Dem)
Mr Bullion went to the Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys. He has worked in publishing since leaving school - 20 years at Hodder and Stoughton at Dunton Green - and gained a first degree and a PhD as a part-time mature student at the Open University. He stood in the 2010 election in Sevenoaks and came second.
Key policies: More care nurses for Kent. Support for local post offices, village shops and pubs. Improved train and bus services.
In his words: “I am particularly keen to preserve the beauty and vitality of the North Downs area and the local environment.”
Chris Clark (Lab)
Mr Clark was born raised in Headcorn, lives in Croydon and is an Ashford Borough Councillor. Mr Clark, 34, a former Maidstone Grammar pupil, has worked in the rail industry for 14 years. In the 2010 election, he stood as candidate in Ashford and came third with polled 9,204 votes.
Key policies: Raising the minimum wage to more than £8; freezing rail fares for a year; linking tax credits to inflation. No increases in income tax, national insurance or VAT.
In his words: “One of my campaign priorities will be to get a fair deal for local rail passengers.”
Michael Fallon (Con)
Mr Fallon has been the MP for Sevenoaks since 1997. He has served as Minister of State for Business and Minister of State for Energy in March 2013, and was previously deputy chairman of the Conservative Party. He is currently Secretary of State for Defence. Married with two sons, he lives in Sundridge.
Key policies: Continuing the work of the Government in securing the economic recovery.
In his words: “I have diligently and vigorously represented everyone who lives in the constituency of Sevenoaks.”
Steve Lindsay (Ukip)
Married with four children, Mr Lindsay lives in Sevenoaks. He is married with five children. He has a degree in economics and works in finance. He was elected as a Ukip councillor on the borough council last May.
Key policies: Protecting the greenbelt, by changing planning rules to encourage more building on brownfield sites.
In his words: “A vote for me is a vote to protect our countryside. Change is in the air.”
