A Sevenoaks dentist's holiday hell has come to an end after being jailed for three days with her four-year-old daughter.
Mother-of-three Dr Ellie Holman was imprisoned after drinking a glass of wine on the way to Dubai last July.
The 44-year-old had her passport confiscated and was thrown behind bars along with her daughter after a heated discussion over her Visa with an airport official.
Dubai officials claim Dr Holman tried to use an expired Swedish passport which was refused.
A statement from the Dubai government read: "She then produced an Iranian passport, and was informed by the officer that she could enter the country by issuing a new temporary visa, which allowed a 96-hour stay, and had to change her departure flight according to the new visa.
"Ms. Holman refused angrily due to the additional payment fees the process would require, and proceeded to verbally insult the immigration officer and take photos of the officer via her phone."
Dr Holman claims the immigration officer became "dismissive and rude" as she pleaded to stay.
During the discussion, Dr Holman told the official she had drunk a glass of red wine on her eight-hour flight from London to the Gulf state.
Since the ordeal on July 13, the Swedish national has been stranded in the country without a passport and faced a year long battle to get it back.
But after the case's widespread publicity, Dr Holman is now expected to fly home tomorrow.
According to non-government organisation Detained in Dubai, the Dubai government have informed Dr Holman she will not face any charges and have offered to pay for her flight home.
