A football mad transport coordinator from Kent is celebrating after winning £1,000 worth of holiday vouchers from a building materials supplier.
Neil Jeffery, who works at the Sidcup branch of Selco Builders Warehouse is pondering how to spend his prize after using his football knowledge to earn himself the holiday windfall.
His success came in the Selco Predictor competition, run in conjunction with talkSPORT, which offers participants the chance to become an instant millionaire by correctly predicting the results of the ten Barclays Premier League weekend fixtures.
The Predictor is open to anybody but, to increase interest and competition, Selco has established specific mini-leagues allowing customers and staff in each branch the chance to compete with each other.
Neil scooped the top prize from those mini-leagues having scored the highest number of points throughout August and September across the UK.
“I’m an Arsenal fan so I follow the Premier League very closely but there was no magic formula for the results – I just used my instincts" - Neil Jeffery...
Further prizes will be awarded each month with an instant £1 million available to anyone who correctly predicts all ten scores in any given week.
Neil, who lives in Sevenoaks and has worked with Selco for eight-and-a-half years, is now planning a family holiday with wife Marie, 15-year-old daughter Megan and son Thomas, who is seven.
He said: “I’m not sure where we will be going yet but I’m sure the kids will come up with some ideas. It was really pleasing to win and it’s a great prize that Selco put up each month for staff and customers.
