More on KentOnline
A first time entrepreneur, Kent resident and life long beer obsessive has launched a new online craft beer club.
James Adams launched The Other Brew to provide customers with a monthly box of Craft Beer - a product designed by independent, craft brewers - delivered direct to their door.
The 27-year-old, of Church Street in Shoreham, believes it is a great way for beer lovers to discover products that are not available on the supermarket shelves.
All the beer sourced is from young, artisanal microbreweries, using brewing methods focused on quality and taste.
The Other Brew hunts down the very best of these and delivers six a month, direct to your door.
It aims to not only become a supplier of the very best products but a community, where beer drinkers can come and discuss their likes and dislikes with brewers themselves.
Each brewer will have a full profile and story behind it, provided by the Other Brew via its website which launched on November 12, backed by funding from Virgin StarUp and the support of its Mentor system.
It was the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to access a greater variety of beer than is available on the supermarket shelves.
Mr Adams said: “We aim to give people the opportunity to discover brand new beer, that is often extremely difficult to find, from the growing selection of breweries in the UK.
"The Craft Beer market is experiencing a revival at the moment and there is an abundance of people creating wonderful beer that is often very difficult to get your hands on. This a problem we have found and are hoping to provide a cheap, fun and engaging solution to this.”
“Having grown up in a pub in Shoreham and always having a passion for real ale, the current explosion in great beer within the UK has been a dream for me. I recently returned form travelling round the world, sampling what was on offer and I was amazed to return to what can only be described as a Beer revolution.
"In my opinion there is no where in the world making beer as good as we are doing here. It is absolutely astonishing how the public has responded to this and pushed aside the large conglomerate breweries in favour of the small, locally produced products on offer.
"Its a great example of what can be achieved locally with the right support”
