A number of Kent towns have been rated some of the best places to live in the UK.

Halifax's Quality of Life survey has revealed the top 50 places with the best quality of life.

The report, which is the ninth that Halifax has produced, crunches statistics from a range of sources to come up with an overall measure of quality of life.

Sources include figures from various government departments, the Met Office and Office for National Statistics data.

Sevenoaks was ranked 14th in the line-up, moving up significantly from 47th last year.

Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge and Malling were also included in the list of the top 50 places to live in the UK.

The district of Hart in Hampshire topped the list for the fourth year in a row.

It scored highly on residents' health and well being, education, employment levels, low crime rates and good broadband access.
