A Kent woman has died and her husband is fighting for his life after a crash which also killed another man.
The pensioner from Sevenoaks was killed in the collision on the A39 at Helstone in Cornwall on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called at 3.50pm to a crash involving three cars. A grey Jaguar XJ Super V had been travelling in the direction of Camelford when it collided with an oncoming blue BMW on a left-hand bend. The Jaguar then struck a Nissan Qashqai VI.
In the BMW was a man and a woman, both 70, from Sevenoaks. The couple were flown to Derriford Hospital, but the woman died on arrival. Her husband suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Jaguar was being driven by a 30-year-old man from Helstone, who died at the scene.
His passengers, a 15-year-old boy and a 40-year-old man from the area, were flown to Derriford Hospital where they remain in a serious but stable condition.
The Nissan contained a 65-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman from Essex. Both suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The road was closed for nine hours while a forensic examination took place of the scene.
