Part of the M25 was closed after a lorry caught on fire.
Emergency services were called alongside National Highways officers after a vehicle went up in flames earlier today.
It happened on the anti-clockwise carriageway between Junction 5 for Sevenoaks and Junction 6 for Godstone and caused long delays.
National Highways warned the fire will “take some time to extinguish” and drivers were told to allow extra time.
The clockwise carraigeway was also been stopped due to the smoke levels.
A spokesman added: “This means there is no access to the M26 west.”
A fire service spokesperson said: “Six fire engines attended, crews wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose-reel jet to extinguish the flames.
“The cause of the fire is currently unknown, no injuries have been reported.”
Crews left the scene just before 5pm.
