Kent Police appeal for witnesses after 43-year-old man dies in crash on A21 between Sevenoaks and Swanley

A 43-year-old man has died following a fatal collision near Sevenaoks this morning.

The man, who comes from Essex, was travelling in a black Vauxhall Zafira that crashed on the northbound carriageway of the A21 between Sevenoaks and Swanley at around 2.40am.

The accident closed the road for over six hours and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The road closure was enforced just after 4am between the A225 and A25 and it reopened shortly before 10.30am.

Fire crews were called out at around 2.50am amid reports a person had been trapped inside a vehicle.

They supported other emergency services by lighting the scene of the crash.

The crash was originally thought to involve four vehicles, but police have now confirmed just one was involved.
