The owners of the property were away at the time and reported a large quantity of jewellery as stolen when they arrived home.

An investigation was launched by the Kent Crime Squad and a forensic examination at the scene recovered DNA.

On Monday, Licaj, of no fixed address, was arrested after arriving at Stansted Airport in London and taken into custody.

He was later charged with one count of burglary.

Lical appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court the following day where he pleaded guilty.

He was remanded to be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court at a later date.
