A Sevenoaks man who was arrested on suspicion of theft and assaulting a police officer has been bailed.

The 23-year-old was arrested in Garden Road, Sevenoaks, just after midnight on Sunday in connection to the theft of a mobile phone from St John's Hill.

During the arrest he allegedly assaulted an officer, who suffered minor injuries.

The man has been bailed pending further inquiries until Tuesday, November 17.
