Detectives investigating the assault of a pensioner have arrested a man on suspicion of robbery at an airport.

Officers began an investigation following reports of a 79-year-old man being assaulted and having his camera stolen.

Following an appeal for witnesses released in April officers arrested a 31-year-old man from Dagenham yesterday at 3.15pm at Heathrow Airport.

He was subsequently bailed to return to the police station on Monday, October 30.
