Suspect in church hall theft given Sevenoaks court date

A suspected burglar is due in court after two church halls and a council office were targeted.

Some time between June 5 and June 10, the Old Methodist church hall in Otford High Street was broken into. A glass door was damaged and a number of chocolate bars stolen.

Then between June 18 and June 22, the offices of Riverhead Parish Council in Amherst Hill, Sevenoaks, were targeted. Damage was caused to an internal door and cash was taken.

Five days later St John’s church hall in Hildenborough, near Tonbridge, was broken into and cash was stolen after cupboards were forced open.

A 44-year-old man from Treharris, Mid Glamorgan, will appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on March 22 next year to answer three burglary charges.
