Man's body found in Knole Park, Sevenoaks, police are not treating it as suspicious

The discovery of a man's body in Knole Park yesterday evening is not being treated as suspicious, police say.

An area of the parkland in Sevenoaks was cordened off yesterday evening after the body of a man in his 40s was found.

Police launched an investigation after the grim find was made near Riverhill just before 5pm.

However, officers have now confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Walkers passing by the spot reported concern about a man's welfare, and called the emergency services.

Eye witnesses reported six police cars and two ambulances at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to a report for the concern for welfare of a man found at an area off River Hill, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers have cordoned off the scene to investigate the circumstances."

The man's next of kin have been informed.

A report for the coroner's office is being prepared.
