A 24-year-old man died and three others were injured last night after a head-on car crash in East Peckham, near Maidstone. The man, from Sevenoaks, was driving a silver Renault Five when he collided with a white Ford Escort on the A228 at Seven Mile Lane.

The other casualties were taken to Maidstone Hospital with minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which took place near the Alders roundabout and the Royden Hall junction at about 8.30pm. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Vaughan on 01732 771055.
